Privacy policy

Your library lives on your device. You decide what to keep and what to share.

Updated 19 September 2026 · Version 1.0

Your collection stays with you

Etui is provided by Luxxow S.à r.l.-S, 12 rue Treeschheck, L-3321 Berchem, Luxembourg (R.C.S. Luxembourg B311306). The app does not require an Etui account. Luxxow does not receive or host your saved library. Etui includes no advertising or third-party analytics SDK.

What is stored on your device

Your saved links, images, previews, notes, voice recordings, places, dates and shelves are stored locally in the app’s shared storage, which lets the app and its extensions work together. Text recognition and supported on-device processing use Apple frameworks. Your library remains until you delete items, replace it through a restore, or remove the app and its data. Copies you export and backups managed by your device or storage provider have their own retention.

Link previews and websites

When Fetch link previews is enabled, Etui contacts the original website to retrieve available titles, images and page information. For supported links it may also request a public preview from the relevant service, such as YouTube, TikTok, X or Reddit. Those services receive the requested URL and normal network information such as your IP address, and handle requests under their own privacy policies. Turn off Fetch link previews in Settings → Privacy & Accessibility to stop preview requests. Opening an original link opens the source website or app, whose own privacy policy applies. Etui does not bypass sign-in or paywalls.

Sharing, clipboard and permissions

Saving through the share sheet or Safari extension is initiated by you. The Safari extension uses access to the active tab when you choose to save it. Etui can detect that the clipboard contains a link; you choose Paste to provide the link itself. Photo selection, microphone recording and optional local notifications use the relevant system controls and permissions. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Etui Pro is an optional auto-renewing Apple subscription that removes the free save limit. Apple processes the payment under your Apple ID and Apple’s privacy policy. Luxxow does not receive your card details. Restoring a purchase uses your Apple Account on this device. You can cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Export, restore and Apple services

Etui supports library backup and shelf export/import as files. You choose where exported files go and with whom to share them; the selected provider’s terms and privacy policy apply. There is no automatic Etui cloud synchronization in this version. Apple may process App Store, TestFlight, purchase, diagnostic or device-backup information under your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy. These services are separate from hosting your library with Luxxow.

Your choices and rights

You can delete local saves, turn off preview fetching and optional permissions, and export your collection using the app. For personal information you have sent directly to Luxxow, contact hello@luxxow.com about access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, as applicable.
